BoostGeo Score Bot is an automated page-fetching tool used by the BoostGeo platform. It reads public webpages so BoostGeo can produce requested Website Readiness reports, run supported AI Journey tests, verify published improvements, and perform monitoring authorized by a customer.

The bot is a software component of the BoostGeo platform—not the company itself or a general-purpose web crawler. It runs only as part of specific BoostGeo product workflows, identifies itself in requests, and follows redirects only to safe public destinations.

How to identify the bot

  • Purpose: read public HTML and supporting page metadata for an authorized BoostGeo analysis

What the Score Bot does

  • Runs when someone requests a website check or when a customer-authorized BoostGeo workflow needs fresh page evidence.
  • Uses bounded time, redirect, page-size, and browser-rendering limits.
  • Records the final URL, response type, evidence mode, timestamp, and scoring version.
  • Stops without a score when it receives a CAPTCHA, login wall, checkout destination, access challenge, or unusable evidence.

Safe access for verified site owners

A verified site owner can explicitly create a domain-specific access key for the Score Bot. When enabled, the bot sends that key only to the verified domain and its subdomains. Site owners can configure their CDN or WAF to recognize both bot headers on public marketing, category, product, service, or article routes.

Do not create a blanket User-Agent exception. Keep login, account, checkout, payment, admin, private APIs, and other sensitive routes protected. A User-Agent can be copied; the customer-specific access key is the stronger control.

What the Score Bot will not do

  • The bot will not solve CAPTCHAs or attempt to bypass access controls.
  • The bot will not use residential proxy rotation or present itself as a human visitor.
  • The bot will not complete purchases, submit forms, create registrations, or perform account actions.
  • A blocked Score Bot request is reported only as the result of that specific page-fetch attempt. It is not treated as proof that Google, Bing, or every AI crawler is also blocked.
